Step by step
- 01
Open the actual attachment
Use the PDF attached to Mail, Messages, or a school app. Avoid signing a screenshot when the original PDF is available.
- 02
Check the details first
Confirm the student, event, dates, and selections. If text fields still need work, complete them in the sender’s form or another compatible tool before signing.
- 03
Place your signature
Tap Sign, choose your saved handwriting, and size it to the parent or guardian signature line.
- 04
Return the PDF
Export the flattened signed copy, open it once, and send it through the same channel or destination requested by the school.

PDF SIGN & SCAN
Your real signature, ready when the PDF arrives.
Scan it once. Place it carefully. Send the signed copy from your iPhone.
App StoreKeep the return clear
- Use the original PDF rather than a cropped screenshot.
- Check whether more than one page needs a signature.
- Keep a copy of what you sent.
Questions
Can I sign a permission slip that arrived as an image?
The app can accept an image through the share workflow, but a PDF is usually easier to return as a document.
Can I add missing text answers in PDF Sign & Scan?
No. Complete text or checkbox fields elsewhere, then use the app for the signature placement.
